For four days, Fort Lauderdale city parking officers slapped tickets on a parked car before someone took a closer look and noticed the driver still in the vehicle — dead. The 62-year-old man had passed away from natural causes and had been ill with hypertensive cardiovascular disease. What's not known is how long his body had been inside the Isuzu.
The car was issued 5 tickets from Nov. 12 through Nov. 15. Fortunately, Fort Lauderdale city officials dismissed the $160 in parking fees, "due to extenuating circumstances."
